Police have found a piece of faded red material buried in a muddy creek bed as they continue the search for William Tyrrell.
Investigators searching bushland near the Kendall home the three-year-old vanished from in September 2014, began digging through a new section of pumped-out creek on Monday.
As they raked through the mud, detectives discovered a piece of red fabric near the base of a tree shortly after 3.30pm, the Daily Telegraph reports.
The item was placed into an evidence bag and will be forensically examined to determine whether it is the same material as the
