Ethan Crumbley, 15, was allegedly left home alone by his parents when he was eight years old. Kayla LeMieux, 28, a former neighbor of Ethan, claimed his parents would go to Lake Orion downtown bars
A former neighbor of alleged Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbley claimed she made anonymous calls to Child Protective Service years ago about his parents abandoning him to go drinking.
Kayla LeMieux, 28, who lived near Ethan and his parents in Lake Orion in 2014 and 2015, said James and Jennifer Crumbley would leave their then eight-year-old son home alone for hours to go to bars downtown.
'When they were gone, he would come knock on our door,' LeMieux told The Detroit Free Press. 'They didn't leave him with a phone.'
LeMieux claimed Ethan used to beg her to call his parents to return to their house on the Atawater block, just 10 minutes away from Lake Orion.
The woman, who briefly worked with Jennifer, 43, as a restaurant server in 2012 and once considered her a 'friend,' said she wasn't told whether CPS had acted on her complaints.
'It was really when I finally started to say more, because I was just like, even after calling CPS, they were still doing it and even me saying something to them, they were still like 'Oh he is fine,' LeMieux said.
In the aftermath of the shooting, there have been increasing reports raising concern about the Crumbleys' parenting style, including evidence that suggests it was James, 45, who bought Ethan the gun he allegedly perpetrated the shooting with.
Meanwhile, authorities revealed texts sent by Jennifer, in which she told her son 'LOL I'm not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught' after a teacher saw the teenager looking up different types of ammunition on his phone.
Footage, obtained exclusively by DailyMail.com on Monday, showed the 15-year-old accused shooter stumbling and falling in the back room of a diner he worked at in Oxford last year. An incident his mother reportedly blamed on an 'empty stomach.'
Eli Crumbley, Ethan's older half-brother who had previously worked at the same diner, was once caught with marijuana at the job and hinted that his father and stepmother had given it to him, the diner's manager told DailyMail.com.
CPS has declined to confirm or deny LeMieux's claims, citing confidentiality concerns.

Records obtained by the Detroit Free Press confirm that the Crumbleys, who married in 2005, lived near downtown Lake Orion before moving to Oxford, where the youngest Crumbley is accused of perpetrating a carnage of terror at the town's only high school that left 4 teenagers dead.
Ethan and his parents are now in solitary confinement, facing likely long prison sentences and not allowed to have contact with each other.
LeMieux told the Free Press she and Jennifer worked as a restaurant servers and even considered her a friend before growing frustrated with her habit of leaving Ethan home alone to go to bars with her husband.
LeMieux handed to the Free Press Facebook messages between her and Jennifer from 2015 in which LeMieux mentions the Crumbleys' drinking.
'CPS complaints are confidential by law,' Bob Wheaton, a spokesman with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services told the Free Press.
LeMieux said she wasn't aware that the Crumbleys owned any guns during the time she was their neighbor in 2014 and 2015.

The Crumbleys were captured early Saturday in the basement of a building on the 1100 block of Bellevue Street in Detroit, less than half a mile from the Canadian border. They were taken into custody after leading authorities on a large-scale manhunt while fleeing involuntary manslaughter charges.
