A school bus driver was caught on video using 'racist, inappropriate language' as she drove a bus packed with children, according to the principal of a Kansas City middle school in the embattled Park Hill School District - the same district where students had created a petition to reinstate slavery in September.

Chris Early, the principal of Congress Middle School in Missouri, informed parents of Monday's incident after the video, likely taken by one of the students aboard the school bus, shows the unidentified female bus driver using a derogatory term for black people multiple times in the 38-second clip.

'In the video that families shared with us, the bus driver used racist, inappropriate language in responding to a student who used similar language,' the principal wrote in a letter addressed to students' parents, which was obtained Tuesday by the Kansas City Star

Early said that the company that manages and employs the school district's bus drivers had also been made aware of the incident, before adding that school administrators learned of the video after it was shared by parents of students enrolled at the middle school.

In the video, the driver appeared to be scolding a student on the bus for using the same racist language while repeating the student's words.

Early said that the school district is also looking into disciplining that student as well per the district's policies.

The school district has since informed the bus company, First Student, that 'we do not want this driver to work on any routes for the Park Hill School District anymore.'
