A retired company director who was caught drink driving near his £1million home and punched a police officer after he was arrested has been banned from driving for three and a half years.
Brian Wilson, 75, was stopped by police in his Volvo car on Golf Links Road in Ferndown, Dorset just after 8pm on December 8.
Officers noticed he was slurring his words and smelt of alcohol. A breathalyser confirmed he had 80 mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - more than twice the legal limit of 35mcg.
Poole Magistrates' Court heard that after being arrested, the pensioner punched a police officer after becoming upset about being held in custody.
Wilson has now been disqualified from driving for three-and-a-half years following his latest conviction.
