Police are hunting two men in connection with an aggravated burglary at the home of Olympic cyclist Mark Cavendish.

Detectives want to speak to Jo Jobson, 25, of Plaistow, east London and George Goddard, 26, from Loughton, Essex.

Cavendish, 36, reported he and model wife Peta Todd, 35, were threatened and assaulted as their home in Ongar, Essex was raided in front of their young children.

None of the family sustained serious injuries but the burglars made off with a Louis Vuitton suitcase and two high-value watches in the early hours on November 27.

Police have made three arrests and charged one person with two counts of robbery.

Detective Inspector Tony Atkin, who is leading Essex Police's investigation, said: 'The investigation is ongoing and, so far, three people have been arrested.

'I now seek the public's help to locate two men, Jo Jobson and George Goddard.

'I believe both men will have information which will help the investigation and I would urge them both to come forward.'

The athlete and his model wife Peta Todd were set upon by four armed thugs in a planned raid at his house in the Ongar area of Essex.

Their children watched in terror as their parents were attacked and threatened and were left 'incredibly shaken' by the incident.

The attack came just six days after Cavendish suffered two broken ribs and a collapsed lung in a horrific crash in Belgium.

Mr Cavendish said: 'As I'm sure you will understand, this incident has left our family extremely distressed – not just myself and Peta but our children as well, who feared for their lives and are now struggling with the after-effects.

'No one should have to experience the sort of violence and threats made against us, let alone this happening in a family home – a place where everyone should feel safe.

'The items taken are simply material goods and our priority at the moment is to make sure we all recover from the incident as a family, and we know this is likely to take some time.

'We would like to place on record our thanks to Essex Police for a really quick response and the professionalism and the focus they are clearly putting into the investigation.'
