A Philadelphia man with a license to carry shot and killed a man allegedly attempting to steal his car Tuesday morning. 

A trio of men tried to attach yellow cables to the man's black Acura sedan in an attempt to tow it away around 8:15 am, police reported. 

The car owner stepped outside his home on the 5800 block of Cobbs Creek Parkway when he saw the potential carjacking in progress, local reports state. 

The victim of the attempted car jacking, who is licensed to carry a firearm, shot at the trio of suspected thieves hitting one of the men, according to police. 

The man who was hit was behind the wheel of a silver Honda that was being used to tow the Acura away, ABC 6 reported.
