Two people have died in a crash involving a heavy goods vehicle, while a woman, 29, and a one-year-old baby remain in a serious condition in hospital.

The white lorry collided with a black Mazda on the A436 near the idyllic Cotswold village of Pegglesworth shortly before 11.15am on Monday.

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene but, despite best efforts, two people died.
