An aspiring policewoman was allegedly killed by a vigilante as he attempted to ram a car thief off the road. 

Jennifer Board, 22, was riding a motorbike in Townsville when she was struck by Christopher Michael Hughes on February 5, 2021. She died at the scene. 

Hughes, 25, had allegedly been chasing a stolen Hyundai ix35 and lost control attempting to ram it at 120km/h.

The young man, whose 'sole focus in life' was hunting car thieves, became airborne after allegedly ramming the vehicle and hit Ms Board who was travelling in the opposite direction. 

His girlfriend Chelsea Dare and friend Jason Cousens were both live streaming the chase to Facebook at the time of the crash. They have not been charged over the crash.

Court documents revealed Hughes allegedly told a paramedic he was travelling at 60km/h when he crashed and was not driving around for any specific reason, the Courier Mail reported.

Board, who a popular fitness enthusiast who dreamed of becoming a Queensland police officer, was riding her motorbike along Ross River Road in the opposite direction when she was hit by Hughes'
