Former Australian athletics star Sally Pearson has publicly revealed her struggles with adjusting to life off the track and asked fans for guidance as she searches for a new career.
Taking to Facebook on Monday, the gold medallist in the 100m hurdles at the London Olympics in 2012 stated she is open to an array of options as she chases a new life focus.
'Rediscovering myself after retiring from athletics hasn't been easy and still isn't,' Pearson, 35, posted.
'I've dipped my toes into a few different areas but so far nothing has stuck. Maybe it's me not pushing myself towards those avenues or maybe it's my anxiety telling me 'you're not good enough' and 'those people won't hire you'….Whatever it is, it's tough.
'I feel like a kid who has just left school trying to figure out what it is that makes me tick again. Athletics was easy for me! Yes, I worked very hard to achieve the success that I did, but it came easy to me to work hard for it because I loved it!
