NSW Police were alerted to a red Mazda driving dangerously near the Captain Cook Lookout at Nambucca Heads around 4.40pm on Wednesday. Police pulled the car over and driver Christopher McConnachie, 39, allegedly blew a positive breath test and he was immediately arrested. A second breath test returned an alleged reading of 0.203. The man was charged with high range PCA, and his driver’s licence was suspended. But about 7.35pm the same day, police spotted the same vehicle again in Nambucca Heads. McConnachie was again given a roadside breath test which was again allegedly came back positive and he was re-arrested and taken to Macksville Police Station. Yet another secondary breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.191. McConnachie was again charged with driving with a high range PCA and also driving while suspended. The Nambucca Heads man was refused bail and is due to appear at Port Macquarie Local Court on Thursday.
