Shocking pictures show the dramatic effect that years of heroin abuse have had on a once-glamorous young mother as she avoids jail despite being convicted of her 75th offence.

Charlene McKerrow, 33, developed a severe spotty skin complexion due to her drug addiction and was once dubbed 'pizzaface' when her mugshot appeared on a police 'most wanted' list.

She was detained after she defied an ASBO-type Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) twenty times and embarked on a shoplifting spree in which she stole more than £1,000 of items from high street stores while claiming she was armed with a knife, a court heard.

The 33-year-old, whose son, 14, has been living with his grandmother since he was a baby, has now been convicted for a total of 75 offences, a court was told.

Despite probation officers branding her 'high risk of reoffending', McKerrow was given a 20 months jail sentence suspended for two years after she insisted she was now battling to get herself clean while on remand behind bars.

At Bolton Crown Court this week, she appeared via video link from Styal Women’s Prison in Cheshire as she admitted 20 breaches of a CBO and seven charges of theft.

The court heard McKerrow was said to have led a 'chaotic' lifestyle due to domestic violence she witnessed at home growing up. She was placed in care and left school at 14 with no qualifications.

The court was told she previously attacked passengers on a bus, went on a foul mouthed rampage at a takeaway and was involved in robbing a mobile phone from a 16-year-old girl who had a can of beer poured on her head in the process.

Of the 75 offences she has been convicted for, 38 involved thefts and 13 were breaches of court orders. As a result, she had been given conditional discharges, community orders and suspended sentences, the court heard.

In 2013 she was jailed for five years and three months for wounding after she smashed a bottle of
