Little girl, 2, is found wandering the streets of a Mexican city as her Aussie mum mysteriously VANISHES just before they were due to fly to Australia By Kylie Stevens For Daily Mail Australia Published: 01:25 BST, 5 May 2022 | Updated: 02:03 BST, 5 May 2022 Viewcomments A desperate search is underway for an Australian mother after she vanished in Mexico and her two-year-old daughter was found wandering the streets of Cancun. Tahnee Shanks, 32, originally from the Whitsundays, Queensland, had been living in the Central American country with her partner Jorge Aguirre Estudillo and their two-year-old daughter Adelynn. Ms Shanks' brother, Dan, claimed his niece was 'dumped' at a church in the Mexican tourist town late at night and was found wandering the streets. Mr Shanks has offered a $5000 reward for his sister's safe return and has spent the last two days dealing with Mexican and Australian authorities. Whitsundays mum Tahnee Shanks (pictured with ex-partner) has gone missing in Mexico His last contact with his sister was around 12.40pm on Sunday, Australian time, which would have been Saturday in Mexico. 'Has anyone seen my sister? She has gone missing and her daughter was dumped outside a church in Cancun,' Mr Shanks wrote in a Cancun Expats Facebook group. A police public appeal for information about Ms Shanks' whereabouts have been widely shared on both sides of the world. It's understood Tahnee was weeks away from heading home back to Australia with her daughter next month after the relationship with her partner broke down. She was waiting for the toddler's passport and had booked plane tickets to arrive home on June 22. Mr Shanks is trying to contact Tahnee's ex-partner, who drives a white Toyota Tundra. Daily Mail Australia doesn't suggest the ex-partner is involved in her disappearance. Tahnee's two-year-old daughter Adelynn was found wondering the streets late at night Her family haven't heard from Tahnee Shanks (pictured with her daughter) in four days. Pictured is one of the last photos she shared with her family Tahnee was enjoying a short holiday with her ex and their daughter when she last spoke to her brother Dan and sister-in-law on Sunday. She sent the pair photos of El Cuyo and mentioned they were heading to Tulum. Her family raised the alarm after receiving late night phone calls on Tuesday regarding photos surfaced online of Adelynn after she was found alone near the Chapel of the San Archangel. 'They're on a little holiday – everything seemed fine, I spoke to Tahnee on Sunday at lunchtime,' Mr Shanks told the Daily Mercury. 'She sent photos of the beaches they were visiting and next minute nothing from her.' Another brother Ben and their mother Leanne will head to Mexico on Friday. It's understands little 'Addy' is currently safe and being cared for by child protection agency DIF. 'She's never off social media and she would never leave that girl. That's the scariest thing,' Ben said. 'We know Tahnee wouldn't leave that girl on her own.'
