Monday 9 May 2022 01:32 AM Ricky Chapman: Bandidos bikie's ex-girlfriend says his funeral is 'on hold' ... trends now A bitter feud has erupted between the mother and ex-girlfriend of a former Bandidos enforcer with the pair heading to court over where he will be buried. Ricky Chapman, 32, died on April 20 after suffering a medical episode while working at Rio Tinto's port in Cape Lambert, 1,500km north of Perth. Chapman's sudden death has sparked a family dispute with his mother Suzy Stinger trying to have his body brought to South Australia - while his former partner Stacey Schoppe fights to keep him in the state. Now, Ms Schoppe - who has raised more than $9400 on GoFundMe for a funeral - has announced the service has been postponed indefinitely as she takes the case to the coroner's court. 'Unfortunately the funeral is on hold until further notice,' she wrote on the page on Friday. Ricky Chapman (pictured), a one-time hard man for the Bandidos on the Gold Coast, died suddenly last month, aged 32 'His "mother" who’s (sic) hasn’t been in his life has decided it’s in Rickys (sic) best interest to go back to sa (sic) for the funeral. 'So I need to make a submission to the coroner to rule in my favour,' she said. 'This may take time. Sorry.' The update, first reported by The West Australian, has since been deleted from the page. It's understood Chapman's former partner, who is the stepdaughter of slain Rebels boss Nick Martin, was listed as his next of kin at the time of his death. The one-time Bandidos hardman's mother told loved ones on Facebook that she wouldn't be letting him be buried out west. 'Would like everyone to know Stacey is not burying Ricky he's coming home to his mother,' she wrote last week. 'Can you all be mindful Ricky has got a family from birth, Chapmans and my family which extends way down Wallaroo, SA. 'Brothers, sister, pops, nanna's and extended (family) that want to give our boy a send off.' His former partner Stacey Schoppe (pictured together) is embroiled in a battle with his mother over where he will be buried Chapman's mother, Suzy Stinger, has claimed Ms Schoppe is trying to organise a funeral for Chapman in WA, despite his mother living in SA The tension came to light after Ms Schoppe created the fundraiser to raise money for his funeral costs. 'Everybody knew Ricky knew how much he loved the beach. He love his dog 'big' they had a bond like no other,' she wrote. 'He will be sadly missed within our household as he would always say thank you for finally making me feel like I have a real family. 'Any help would be Greatly appreciated to give him the send off he deserves.' Immediately after Chapman's death, Ms Stinger shared a cryptic post telling her friends to 'stay calm, and if anyone gets out of control, I can't say what gonna happen,' Ms Stinger said. Chapman was working as a fly-in-fly-out rigger between Perth and Cape Lambert at the time of his death after vowing to give up the outlaw motorcycle gang lifestyle. He was involved in the infamous bikie brawl in Broadbeach in 2013 and last made headlines in 2020 when he copped a stray bullet to the arm in the contract killing of his father-in-law and bikie boss Martin. He required surgery to remove the bullet and was arrested upon leaving hospital for breaching the conditions of his parole for associating with known underworld figures. Chapman served further prison time but was released in April 2021, when he again vowed to change his life.
