ABC radio host Virginia Trioli has erupted at Scott Morrison for failing to appear on her show moments before he joined her colleague for an interview.

Trioli, the host of ABC's morning show, complained that she has been struggling to get a hold of the prime minister for three years, while speaking on Radio Melbourne on Thursday.

She revealed that Anthony Albanese would be on her program after 8:30, however, Mr Morrison shunned her show.

'We have been pretty much told by the Prime Minister’s office and that’s been reaffirmed this morning that we will never get Scott Morrison,' Trioli said.

Colleague Sammy J asked: 'Reaffirmed in what way?'

Trioli: 'Via text. That we will not get Scott Morrison on the program at all.'

Trioli said she had fought against excuses from the PM's office for too long and slammed the boycott.

'The schedule is full,' she said. 'We were hoping that full schedule might have included us, given we've been requesting for, coming on three years now.'

'Scott Morrison does not believe that he has an obligation to, or wants to, or cares to, address the morning listeners on ABC Radio Melbourne. A quite substantial audience, but there you go.'

However, moments after her comments, Mr Morrison was heard by listeners in a 10-minute interview with Sabra Lane on the AM show.

The interview was aired between Sammy J's show ending at 8am and Trioli's starting at 8:30am.

In the interview, Mr Morrison spoke out about the 'instability and chaos' independent candidates could create in parliament.

He also addressed interest rate hikes and Australia's relationship with the Solomon Islands after signing a security pact with China.

After the interview, Lane told listeners they made several requests to interview Albanese, but he wasn't available.
