Emergency crews were called to a property on the Clarence River at Palmers Island, 55km north-east of Grafton, about 10.15am on Sunday, after the 19-month-old girl was reported missing. Police performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took her to Maclean Hospital; however, the child was unable to be revived. An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding her death. Those inquiries are continuing and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
