Andrew Symonds formed a very close friendship with a Fox Sports publicist ten years his junior before he died in a car accident.
The cricket star was killed at about 10.30pm on Saturday when his ute veered off the road and hit an embankment on the outskirts of Townsville, in northern Queensland.
It has since been revealed the 46-year-old Fox Sports commentator and his wife Laura were in the midst of a separation and had been living apart for months before his death.
She lived in Sydney with their children, Chloe and Billy, while he remained in Townsville.
Daily Mail Australia can now confirm Symonds shared a bond with 35-year-old Stefanie Rezzara, who also works at Fox Sports, after the split.

Two days after his sudden death, Ms Rezzara - who lives and works in Melbourne - posted a photo of them together on a fishing boat in Townsville with the caption 'XXXX'.
One friend wrote 'love u', while others responded with multiple heart emojis.
Symonds was a keen fisherman and often took close friends and family out on one of his three boats.
Ms Rezzara also went to Queensland a few times over the past few months.
A photo posted on Instagram in July shows the publicist standing on a fishing boat and holding up her giant catch.
Symonds also visited Melbourne for his work as a sports commentator - however, his most recent trip was in March to attend the funeral of his former teammate and friend, Shane Warne.

Despite the split, his estranged wife Laura has been in Townsville with their children to help his mother Barbara and sister Louise organise the funeral.
Laura told News Corp on Sunday: 'We are still in shock - I'm just thinking of the two kids.'
'He was just such a big person and there was so much of him in his kids.'
Wednesday marked his daughter Chloe's 10th birthday - the first celebration without her father.
The cause of Symonds' crash is yet to be determined.
