Superintendent James Sutherland was wearing the ‘ever so colourful’ headgear on patrol in Cambridge. Critics hit out at the stunt, with comments including ‘where has the neutrality gone?’ and ‘how about tackling crime instead of virtue signalling?’ Another said: ‘A woke photo opportunity.
