The Conservative Party should replace its much maligned tree logo with its former Tree of Liberty emblem to revive the spirit of Margaret Thatcher, a senior minister said today.
Attorney General Suella Braverman suggested the burning flame logo used in the late 20th century would help snuff out the 'long tail of Blairism' and restore true Tory values.
The logo was replaced by David Cameron after he became Tory leader in 2006 in a bid to disassociate the party with the sleaze of the Major years.
But the new logo has often been criticised. It was initially green, but was rebranded in blue after a year and later in union jack colours. One MP has likened it to a head of broccoli.
