He purchased the property with an eye on creating the perfect family home, and carried out a full refurb trying to achieve that dream.
But four years after he was handed the keys, Simon Cowell is selling his second home without ever having lived in it.
The music mogul has put the six-bedroom mansion on the market for £17million.
That is £2million more than the 2018 purchase price – but, with the extensive improvements he has made, it would appear to have left Cowell without much of a return on his outlay.
The first pictures from inside the property in Wimbledon, south-west London, show the refurbishment appears to have been completed to a high specification, and finished with a modern, neutral decor throughout.
