Carole Kirkwood beamed with excitement as she lovingly held a mystery man's hand – just months before announcing her engagement live on TV but failed to disclose her fiancé's identity.
The gushing couple were seen wandering around the aisles of a supermarket as they stocked up on essentials and were then pictured sharing a laugh and a joke as they sat in car to make their way home.
A source told MailOnline that Carole is still with the man she was photographed with last year after the shopping trip close to her Berkshire home and that he is the one she is about to tie the knot with.
The source said: 'They've been an item for quite a while and are still together. He spends a lot of time at Carol's lovely home by the River Thames. She's gone to great lengths to keep details about him a secret, but it won't stay that way for long. It's just a matter of time before we know more about him.
'They looked very much in love even though they were only shopping in a supermarket and made a lovely couple.'

Carol, who was married to property developer Jimmy Kirkwood for 18 years until they divorced in 2008, is believed to have met the mystery man around five years ago.
Speaking live on TV, she told her fellow BBC presenters that her partner proposed during a picnic.
She said: 'We got engaged when we were on holiday so it's lovely news and we're both thrilled. We went out for a picnic, I had no idea'.
'The weather was glorious. We were sitting, chatting, my other half was a wee bit nervous for some reason that I didn't know, he was fumbling in his pocket and out came a ring. I thought he was joking actually, I didn't believe him to start with, but it was lovely - it was quite romantic.'
