Donald Trump on Wednesday morning said the elementary school shooting in Uvlade, Texas is a 'moment in time that will never be forgotten' and extended his 'grief and sorrow' for the victims of the mass slaughter.
However, the former president is still expected to appear at an event for the National Rifle Association on Friday along with other prominent Republicans - even as more than a dozen families in the Lone Star State grieve the loss of their young children.
An 18-year-old gunman killed 18 children and two adults when he opened fire inside a classroom on Tuesday at Robb Elementary School.
The shooter was reportedly killed by law enforcement.
