A registered sex offender who threatened to 'ruin' a teacher with false rape claims in a £600 blackmail plot has been jailed for two years.
Brandon Foskett texted the man he would tell his school and the police that he had raped two former students unless he handed over cash.
Newcastle Crown Court heard the 24-year-old and his target were strangers to each other but Foskett found out his personal information through the removal work he was doing at the time.
Foskett, who had wanted money for drugs and alcohol, used his own phone and bank account to carry out the con and was quickly found out.
While being monitored for a Risk of Sexual Harm Order, he also fled 200 miles away from Newcastle to work as a porter at a tourist hotel in Scotland last year.
He was then released after serving his 10-month sentence on remand earlier this year.
Foskestt has now been jailed for two years over this latest offence after pleading guilty to blackmail.

Prosecutor Barry Robson told the court: 'The complainant received a message, a text message, which read he would be putting in a report to the education establishment and also
