Their conditions remain unknown, but the hospital announced that it is on lockdown 'out of an abundance of caution.' Five family members of Da'Shontay King Sr, 37, were shot while attending his funeral on Thursday afternoon Racine Police urged residents to avoid the area, calling the shooting 'a critical incident' King, 37, was shot and killed by a police officer on March 20. Police said at the time that an officer attempted a traffic stop as part of a firearms investigation, and King got out of his vehicle armed with a gun. The cop reportedly ordered him to stop and comply with commands, but police say he refused, and the cop fired. Those on the scene of the shooting Thursday said they heard about 20 to 30 shots, with one woman telling The Journal Times it 'sounded like firecrackers.' And three boys who were playing basketball at Lockwood Park, immediately west of the cemetery said they heard the gunfire just about 10 minutes after a funeral procession had passed by. The shots pierced the fence behind them, they told the Journal Times, and they immediately started running. Police were seen Thursday evening surveying the surrounding area, as multiple shell casings lined the street.
