The mother of Australian teenage rap sensation The Kid Laroi, whose real name is Charlton Howard, has been arrested on fraud charges.
Sloane Howard, 51, handed herself in to a police station in central Sydney where she was arrested and charged with dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
It is understood inner west police began investigating alleged fraudulent credit card transactions involving Ms Howard four years ago, in 2018.
On Mother's Day in 2020 The Kid Laroi paid tribute to her as 'the strongest woman I know'.
'I've seen you literally put your own life on the line to make sure I always had the best, even in the worst [times].'

Ms Howard faced Downing Centre Local Court on May 30 where she pleaded not guilty, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
It is understood her case is back in court on June 27 but she has been excused from attending in person if she is represented by her lawyer.
The Kid Laroi, now 18, has previously discussed the lengths his mother went to in supporting him and his younger brother Austin after her separation in 2007 from her husband, music producer Nick Howard.
