A hologram of the young Queen waving at royal fans down The Mall has been beamed onto the Gold State Coach, as royals and politicians gather outside Buckingham Palace to watch today's spectacular £15million Platinum Jubilee Pageant.
The thousands of fans delighted in seeing the youthful likeness of Queen Elizabeth II greeting them as the carriage progressed along The Mall, in a touching throwback to the early days of Her Majesty's 70-year reign.
The Gold State Coach is an especially significant part of today's procession because it transported the 25-year-old Queen Elizabeth from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey on the day of her coronation on June 2, 1953.
The opulent carriage, drawn by eight of Her Majesty's finest Windsor Grey horses, is more than 250 years old and is sumptuously upholstered in velvet and satin.
It weighs a staggering four tons and its golden exterior is covered in intricate carvings and adornments, making the vehicle the 'iconic figurehead' of the Platinum Pageant, according to a Palace release.
But it has also earned a reputation among royals for its rough ride - the Queen herself described her coronation journey in the cabin as 'horrible' and 'not very comfortable', echoing the complaints of several monarchs before her including Queen Victoria and King William IV.
Some 10,000 people including a cast of 6,000 performers are involved in staging the carnival route from Horse Guards, along Whitehall to Admiralty Arch and down The Mall to Buckingham Palace, echoing Her Majesty's 1953 coronation procession.
It is not known if the 96-year-old monarch will make an appearance at today's pageant, after she pulled out of two Jubilee events amid concerns for her health.
Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, their children George, Charlotte and Louis are among those seated in the royal box alongside Boris and Carrie Johnson, Keir Starmer and Sadiq Khan to watch the incredible two-mile procession through central London.
Charles, Camilla, William and Kate, and other members of the royal family are all expected to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the end of the 2½-hour procession.

The pageant is split into four acts: For Queen and Country with a military parade; The Time of Our Lives progressing through seven decades of culture, music and fashion; Let's Celebrate telling the story of the Queen's life in 12 chapters with corgi puppets and carnival creations; and the Happy and Glorious musical spectacle.
Celebrities are travelling in decorated open top double decker buses for the decade-by-decade celebrations.
A peloton of 300 cyclists, riding vintage bikes from across the seven decades of the Queen's reign, are heading down The Mall led by Sir Chris Hoy and cycling golden couple Dame Laura and Sir Jason Kenny.
Close to 200 national treasures are set to take the stage to serenade the Queen by singing the national anthem at the grand finale of the Platinum Jubilee festivities.
Stars including Sir David Jason, Harry Redknapp, Sir Cliff Richard, Sandie Shaw, Felicity Kendal, Joe Wicks and Holly Willoughby will join Ed Sheeran in a mass rendition of God Save The Queen outside Buckingham Palace to conclude the fesitivities.
Among the cast of colourful characters taking part in the Jubilee parade on Horse Guards is a group of Daleks from the sci-fi television programme Doctor Who, threatening passers-by that they will be 'exterminated' as they roll along with cultural icons from the 1960s in the decade-by-decade Time of
