Hunter Biden's ex-wife Kathleen was excluded from Secret Service protection during their marriage while Joe Biden was vice president, she claims in her upcoming memoir. 

Kathleen Buhle writes that she was left feeling 'embarrassed' and like 'I was not truly a Biden' after Hunter and their children were assigned a security detail when Joe became VP in 2009.

Ironically, DailyMail.com spotted Hunter and daughter Maisy, 21, out to lunch in Malibu on Tuesday afternoon with six Secret Service agents nearby. 

The Guardian obtained a copy of the book where Kathleen writes it 'triggered' her fear that she didn't belong, reminding her of an incident where Hunter's aunt left her out of a family photo and said 'Biden blood only.'  

But not all 'Biden blood' have been granted a Secret Service detail even as Joe Biden sits as president. DailyMail.com revealed last week that Hunter's lovechild Navy Joan has not received security protection despite the little girl and her mom Lunden Roberts becoming entangled in a terrifying harassment case.

Kathleen's book If We Break: A Memoir of Marriage, Addiction, and Healing will hit stands next week and promises to dive into her turbulent marriage with Hunter. 

A Secret Service agent can be seen trailing close behind Hunter and Maisy during their Tuesday outing, but DailyMail.com spotted six agents altogether protecting the pair. 

Hunter traveled with three SUVs, filled with two agents in each car. He reportedly went to a showing of Top Gun: Maverick by himself on Friday where he traveled with four cars. 

It was the first time Joe's troubled son was seen in weeks since DailyMail.com revealed his obsessive porn history. Hunter wore a navy button-up, brown cap and a pin that read 'I Voted' in California's primary elections. 

According to the Secret Service website, agents are authorized to protect the president, the vice-president, (or other individuals next in order of succession to the Office of the President), the president-elect and vice president-elect and the 'immediate families of the above individuals.'

Kathleen writes that her relationship with Joe Biden has been warm from the start. She said he told her, 'Honey, my boy tells me he loves you, so that means I love you too. Understand? I love you.'

She felt part of the family as Joe 'introduced me as his daughter everywhere we went.' 

That was until he became vice president and she learned she would not receive the same protection as the rest of the Bidens. 

In the book she describes a meeting with a Secret Service agent in January 2009 who explained, 'Hunter and the girls will all have a detail assigned to them. Two agents with them 24 hours a day,' while Kathleen would only be 'picked up and included in any plan' if there was 'any type of emergency.' 

She writes: 'Suddenly, I felt embarrassed. I knew the Secret Service would be a part of this new life, but I didn't know how. Did this mean I was less important than my husband and my kids? What I heard in his words: I was not truly a Biden.'
