The boyfriend of the fugitive yoga teacher accused of shooting his alleged lover has denied having an affair and claims she dated other men while they were on a break.

Yoga instructor Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, is still on the run after cyclist Moriah 'Mo' Wilson, 25, was found dead in an apartment in Austin, Texas on May 11 shortly after going swimming with her boyfriend, Colin Strickland.

A police tipster, who did not want to be identified, earlier told investigators that Armstrong flew into a rage on discovering cyclist Strickland's romance with fellow cyclist Wilson in January 2022.

However, Strickland, 35, has denied the alleged affair, telling The Sun he only briefly dated Wilson in October 2021.

He alleged that since they called it quits, his relationship with Wilson was 'strictly platonic.'

The pro cyclist also told the newspaper he only got back together with Armstrong after his fling with Wilson because they 'shared business interests,' noting that she continued seeing other men despite their romantic partnership.

Strickland argued the affidavit calling for Armstrong's arrest has 'skewed' the story surrounding his relationships.

According to the police report last month, an anonymous tipster told cops she was with Armstrong in January when the yoga instructor allegedly 'just discovered Strickland was having a romantic relationship with Wilson.'

'Armstrong told the caller Armstrong was so angry Armstrong wanted to kill Wilson,' the report reads.

Strickland argues that his relationship with Wilson formed after his relationship with Armstrong got rocky.

'I had ended the relationship with Kaitlin and it was just interesting timing because Mo had come to Austin to visit a friend that exact week,' he told The Sun. 'It was completely unplanned and yeah, we started spending some time together.'

'That was clearly expressed to Kaitlin at that time and Kaitlin dated other men directly after that.'

He added: 'We were clearly going our separate ways but we just didn't get enough inertia to separate.'

The professional cyclist also argued that he was in 'minimal communication' with Wilson after their romance ended, alleging the affidavit implied something deeper.

'Mo and I communicated about twice a month (after that) and I think it was skewed in a very misleading way in the affidavit,' Strickland said.

He also told the newspaper he got back with his ex because 'Kaitlin and I were involved in several businesses together.'

Additionally, Strickland denied having any intimate interactions with Wilson the day of her death, reiterating the nature of their relationship was platonic at that point.

'If it wasn't, there would have been intent to do otherwise, which did not transpire,' he stated.

On the day she was killed, Wilson was staying in Austin ahead of a race in Waco – which is located about 90 miles north.

That night, she went for dinner with Strickland who told police that he had been swimming with the 25-year-old at Deep Eddy Pool before a dinner of burgers at Pool Burger.

Strickland said he picked her up from the apartment of her friend Caitlin Cash on his BMW motorbike at 5.45pm and dropped her off again at 8.30pm – stopping shortly after to text Armstrong to tell her he had been dropping off flowers to another friend and that his phone had run out of battery.

But unknown to Strickland, Armstrong had allegedly been tracking both him and Mo using cycling app Strava which shows the routes runners and cyclists take.

A neighbor, who asked not to be named, told how her home security cameras caught Armstrong's black Jeep Cherokee driving up to the property, which sits above a garage at the back of a larger home, at 8.35pm.

She also told DailyMail.com that Armstrong had been caught on camera the previous day, riding a bike in the same spot.

At 9.26pm police received a call from Cash saying she had returned home to find Mo lying on the bathroom floor, covered in blood.

Police said she had been shot several times, although neighbors including the owner of the home directly linked to the garage said that none of them heard any gunshots or any kind of disturbance at all.

The neighbor whose home security captured Armstrong's car on camera told DailyMail.com that she believes Armstrong used a silencer.
