A suspected thief attempting to steal a charity tin containing $15 has died after a fight during the alleged break-in at a fish and chip shop in Geelong.
The 48-year-old Norlane man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was allegedly confronted by a resident with a baseball bat while breaking into the Corio shop on Monday morning.
He died in hospital on Thursday
