The mother of an eight-year-old last seen alive in 2019 thinks her 'evil' ex-boyfriend will reveal what happened to their daughter just to cause her pain.

Crystal Sorey says she wants the opportunity to speak to her daughter's father so they can put an end to the mystery behind Harmony Montgomery's disappearance.

Harmony, who turned eight earlier this month, went missing sometime in late November or early December of 2019, but cops were only made aware of her disappearance last fall. She was living with her father, Adam Montgomery and his wife, Kayla, at the time of her disappearance.

Montgomery was indicted on seven gun charges in New Hampshire court on Tuesday, including weapons theft and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The career criminal has been in prison since January on multiple charges, including an allegation that he struck Harmony in July 2019, shortly before she vanished.

His lawyers claim there have been talks of a plea deal to resolve some of the charges against Montgomery, but no formal negotiations have taken place.

Following Montgomery's court hearing Tuesday, Sorey revealed she is hopeful Montgomery will disclose information about Harmony's whereabouts in an effort to reduce any prison sentence.

The worried mother also shared she thinks he would reveal case information just to spite her.

'I truly believe he would tell me just to hurt me and watch me in agony,' she told The Boston Globe in a series of text messages. 'He's an evil man.'

'I am hoping that at some point they're going to strike a deal in order to get the information we need.'

She added: 'It's not gonna be a very beneficial deal on his part, but I'm hoping that he'll have no choice.'

Sorey says she has requested 'a million times' to speak directly with Montgomery, but was told she's not allowed while the search for Harmony remains ongoing.

Cops say the chances of finding the youngster alive are 'slim,' but Sorey says she remains hopeful for a positive outcome.

'I'm always going to hold onto hope until I see proof that she's deceased,' she said.

Sorey previously told police the last time she last saw Harmony was on a video call around Easter 2019 while she was living at an apartment with Montgomery, where she said the the young girl looked 'frightened.'

Montgomery told investigators he last saw Harmony around Thanksgiving 2019 when he gave her to Sorey. Prosecutors allege this claim is false.

He hasn't been charged in the youngster's disappearance, but other charges against the convicted felon are piling up.

In a hearing Tuesday, Montgomery was indicted on two counts of felon in possession of a firearm, theft by unauthorized taking, one count of receiving stolen property and two counts of armed career criminal.

The new charges, for which he has not yet been arraigned, allege he stole a shotgun and rifle between someone identified only as CF in September or October 2019.

Due to his prior felony convictions in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts, Montgomery became in violation of the law by possessing the gun.

Montgomery could face three separate trials for the charges pending against him.

Prosecutors had requested the judge sever his charges, separating the weapons charges, assault charge he received for allegedly giving Harmony a black eye and the misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

'In that case it made sense the second-degree assault had to do with a time - a distinct time period - when Harmony's whereabouts were known. The misdemeanors all have to do with a later time period where Harmony's whereabouts were unknown,' New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Jesse O'Neill told the courtroom, according to WFXT-TV.

The gun related charges will be the first case the state prosecutes while officials continue to investigate what happened to Harmony.

'I think what's best about the case is just how different agencies are working hard together to work on what's a very emotional case,' O'Neill explained.

'It's a case that's gone on a long time. But, spirits remain high. The investigation remains ongoing and strong.'

Montgomery's gun charges trial is scheduled for November with the final pre-trial hearing slated for October 27.

Montgomery has been in jail since January in connection with a second-degree assault charge involving his daughter, including with failing to have her in his custody and endangering her welfare.

In April, he was hit with further charges of stealing a rifle and a shotgun before Harmony's disappearance.

His estranged wife, Kayla, has been charged with welfare fraud after taking out food stamps in the child's name after she was last seen alive.

Harmony, who was blind in one eye, was in her father's care at the time of her disappearance after her mother, Crystal Sorey, lost custody in July 2018 due to her substance abuse issues.

He has yet to be charged in Harmony's disappearance.

On January 4, investigators descended on the home and the apartment complex's garden, with aerial footage at the time showing a crime scene tent set up in the backyard.

They searched the property for a second time about two weeks ago, taking similar measures. Authorities did not disclose what sparked the second search, but conceded the Union Street home has become 'the focus of the investigation.

The FBI and New Hampshire State Police descended on the small, one-bedroom home in Manchester on June 14.

Once there, they ripped up carpet and other flooring in multiple rooms, with a small closet room also torn apart, and a fridge taken away while wrapped in black plastic.

Police also tore out a closet wall, cut a hole in the ceiling over the tub so they could access water pipes, and removed all the doorknobs and water faucets.

Following the search, Harmony's loved ones were warned by investigators that the chances of the little girl's survival are slim.

Johnathon Miller, the adoptive father of Harmony's younger brother, Jamison, told reporters cops had told them the outcome of the search would likely not be a good one.

'We have been told by officials that this probably will not have a good outcome or not the outcome we had hoped for, for Jamison and Harmony to be reunited together,' Miller told Fox News Tuesday shortly after officers left the scene.

'We have always held onto hope that Jamison and Harmony could be together again, but today that hope feels like it's being ripped away from us, especially Jamison,' an emotional Miller told the outlet.

Investigators revealed earlier this year that Harmony had been homeless and living out of a car with her family in the days before her disappearance, after being evicted from the Union Street apartment on November 27 - a date that falls within the span of the girl's disappearance.

Montgomery, meanwhile - who had come under suspicion of case workers of abusing Harmony in the months before her disappearance - was arrested more than two years later, in January, shortly after police were made aware of Harmony's vanishing.

He was arrested on multiple counts related to his daughter's disappearance, including felony second-degree assault, one misdemeanor charge of interference with custody and two misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child - but was not charged with her disappearance.

He pleaded not guilty and was jailed in New Hampshire without bail, where he has remained since.

He was also hit with more unrelated charges in April, after he allegedly stole a
