Ukraine's Ministry of Defence has paid tribute to Australia's military assistance with a bizarre video celebrating some of our national treasures in a heartwarming message.

Australia was one of the first countries to provide combat vehicle and economic support when Ukraine was invaded by Russia in February.

As war-torn Ukraine reels from the latest missile attack on a crowded shopping centre which claimed the lives of 18 civilians, the nation thanked Australia for its support and weapons, which have helped control Russian 'pests' from causing more carnage.

Ukraine's Ministry of Defence uploaded a 48 second video star-studded with some Australia's most loved icons, including pop princess Kylie Minogue, actor Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee, late cricketer Shane Warne, and late wildlife warrior Steve Irwin.

Actor Russel Crowe, Nick Cave, Dame Edna Everage, several kangaroos and even cult children's television character Bluey also make an appearance.

The video declares Ukraine's Bushmasters donated by Australia as the next biggest export to come from Down Under with footage of the combat vehicles in action.

'World culture has been long enriched by fine Australian exports and now Ukraine is being saved by them,' the video states.

'A land under attack owes much to the land down under.'

Australia is a major non-NATO supplier of military aid to the Ukraine.

'Australia is so far from Ukraine, yet is one our closest partners! Our nations share a love of freedom and respect for the environment. Your weapons will help us with pest control of our fields. Thank you!' the ministry tweeted.

The video posted on Wednesday has sparked a heartwarming response back home.

'Our pleasure and hopefully we can send you more assistance from the land down under,' one Aussie commented.

Many called for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to announce more military support  to the Ukraine as Russia's bloody invasion enters its fifth month.

Ukraine's ambassador to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko called for more Bushmaster vehicles to be delivered to the eastern European nation.

Mr Albanese is currently in Spain for the NATO leaders summit, where the war in Ukraine will be one of the the biggest issues on the agenda.

Others responded to the video with a sense a humour.

'Thanks, and glad to help - and you should see our next batch of weapons,' one Aussie captioned a photo of a massive crocodile.
