An urgent call has gone out for adventurous Aussies to work at Australia's Antarctic bases with the roles offering huge salaries for those willing to put up with the cold.
The Australian Antarctic Program is searching for 12 'expeditioners' to apply for jobs as mechanics, communications technicians, cleaners and kitchen hands with pay ranging between $132,000 a year and $155,000.
They would start work in October at one of five deep south bases for at least six months, where temperatures can plummet to -57C in the coldest months.
All rent and board is free at the four bases where chefs prepare your meals for you.

The main round of Antarctic recruitment usually takes place in December but a major upcoming program called the million-year ice core project means extra workers are being hired earlier.
Workers will drive tractor trains 1,200km inland to where the ice is deepest and oldest to drill.
