A driver has been jailed for attempting to rape his passenger after causing a crash on the motorway while high on drugs.
Jason Holmes, 33, ploughed into the back of a silver car on the M180 in south Yorkshire and both drivers pulled over onto the hard shoulder, along with a witness to the incident.
Holmes then dragged his female passenger down the embankment where he removed their clothes and sexually assaulted the victim and strangling them until they lost consciousness.

The two other drivers who had pulled over then attempted to intervene and were attacked by Holmes who left one with damage to his teeth and to his vehicle.
Holmes, from Scunthorpe, was jailed for six years and
