A glamorous yoga instructor was brutally murdered in a luxury hotel room, allegedly by her ex-boyfriend, just hours before she was set to go on a dream trip to the US.
Zhou Huixian, also known by her nickname Aqua Chow, 23, was scheduled to fly to the US on June 30 to take a dream three-month yoga training course but failed to board the plane.
Police found the yoga instructor's body covered in blood in a bathtub at Hong Kong's Ritz Carlton hotel with more than 30 stab wounds from a 27-cm knife.
The walls of the hotel room were also covered in blood, which police believe came from the struggle.
Forensics officers said she died of two 8cm-deep stab wounds to the left side of her chest and throat and that she was killed within the last 24 hours.
Her ex-boyfriend Lao Nan, 28, was arrested on suspicion of murder after he handed himself in at the Wong Tai Sin Police Station on June 30.
CCTV footage emerged of her leaving home with a man on June 29 but she never returned for her flight.
