Three men are missing after they jumped into a river to save an eight-year-old boy who was struggling in choppy waters near Brannan Island in California.
The child survived, but the missing men - identified as Edwin Rivas, Edwin Perez and Danilo Solorzano - have not yet been found, KRCA News reported.
The group were there for an overnight camping trip at Brannan Island State Recreation Area on the bank of the delta in Sacramento County on Saturday, the station reported. It's unclear whether the boy was part of the group camping in the area.
Family members said the little boy was fishing when he began struggling in the water and five men jumped in to rescue him.
Only two of the men and the child made it back to the shore, the news outlet reported.

State Parks officials said the currents and winds were dangerously high on Sunday afternoon during the life-saving mission.
A distraught Juan Cabrera, one of the men who was part of the group that helped in the rescue, said his cousin remains missing.
'This happened so fast. Three people. My friends....we used to come here all the time,' Cabrera said, KRCA reported.
