With the assistance of two Rio de Janeiro police officers, Marcos Veloso shocked Shirley Mclaynee with the news that the couple had bought a car that had been reported stolen as part of a plot to get her to say yes.
Video footage of the recent engagement was recorded by their friend and showed one of the cops questioning Veloso over the car's origin.
'Where did you buy this car? Where are the documents,' the police officer asked a handcuffed Veloso.
