Donald Trump lashed out at the Fulton County District Attorney's Office yet again on Thursday over prosecutors' investigation into whether he illegally tried to upend the 2020 presidential election results by pressuring Georgia officials
Donald Trump insisted on Thursday that he 'did nothing wrong' in Georgia as an investigation into his alleged efforts to overturn the Peach State's 2020 presidential election results heats up.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and her team are looking into whether Trump and his allies illegally tried to pressure Georgia state officials into declaring him the victor, despite President Joe Biden's narrow victory in the state.
Trump's denial comes after two of his top allies, his former lawyer Rudy Giuliani and Senator Lindsey Graham, a sitting US lawmaker, were among a group of people subpoenaed by Fulton County.
At the heart of Willis' investigation is a January 2021 phone call made by Trump to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, in which the then-president pressured Raffensperger to 'find' the votes needed for him to win the state.
'BOTH of my phone calls to Georgia were PERFECT. I had an absolute right to make them,' Trump wrote on his app Truth Social on Thursday.
'I, as does anyone else (just look at the Democrats!), have the absolute right to challenge the results of an Election. This one, CORRUPT, RIGGED, & STOLEN!'
In a follow up post, the former president continued: 'I did NOTHING wrong in Georgia, but others did.'
'They CHEATED in the 2020 Presidential Election, and those are the ones that should be investigated (and prosecuted)!'
Trump added a tease about an upcoming 'letter,' likely to Fulton County prosecutors themselves.
