A drunk driver is arrested after plowing his car into a pickup truck that crashed into a golf cart killing four people- including two children - in the sleepy Texas Island resort after he allegedly failed to stop at the intersection.

Miguel Espinoza, 45, has been charged with four counts of intoxication manslaughter in the horrifying Saturday night crash. 

The golf cart  had six people in it was driving on one side of the road when an black Hyundai SUV driven by Espinoza failed to stop at the intersection striking a black Dodge truck that was traveling in the opposite direction, which then crashed into the golf cart, according to the Galveston Police Department.

The adult driver of the golf cart was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult female identified as Dest Uvalle, and two children, also in the golf cart at the time of the crash, were taken to hospital where they later died from injuries.

Two other golf cart passengers, an adult and another child, remain in critical condition at the hospital, officials said. 

The names of the other victims have not yet been  released
