A 25-year-old mother and her two young sons, ages 4 and 1, were found shot to death in their New Hampshire home in what police are branding a murder.
The victims have been identified as Kassandra Sweeney and her two sons, Benjamin Sweeney, 4 and Mason Sweeney, 1, officials said.
Sweeney and her two children were found inside a home on Wethersfield Drive in Northfield, New Hampshire on Wednesday morning around 11:30 pm.
An unidentified person called 911 alerting law enforcement that people inside the home may be hurt. When police arrived they made the grisly discovery.
An autopsy revealed that Sweeney and her two sons died from a single gunshot wound, and their deaths were ruled a homicide, NBC Boston reported.
Her husband Sean has blasted rumors he was involved on social media, but says he cannot share the full truth of what happened. No arrests have been made, and cops say there is no danger to the public.
They have yet to say whether the triple-killing may have been a murder-suicide, with Massachusetts Attorney General's office saying only 'We do not believe this was a random event, without offering further detail.'
A police spokesman added that Sean had been working with a victim witness advocate to help him deal with the tragedy.
