President Joe Biden enjoyed sunset at the Beach Club on Kiawah Island on Monday night with his son Hunter Biden and daughter-in-law Melissa Cohen joining him.
On the final night of his South Carolina vacation, Biden ventured out of the private home, where he is staying for free, to the luxury members-only Beach Club on shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
The White House would only say the president was attending a private event and offered no further details.
Biden spent a little more than hour at the club, which has an outdoor gazebo, covered porches, several pools and a restaurant with beach views. There's a boardwalk that leads down to a 10 mile beach.
The sun was setting as the president exited the club, where he hugged an unidentified woman. He was followed by his son Hunter and Hunter’s wife, Melissa Cohen. There was no sign of first lady Jill Biden.
He leaves Kiawah Island on Tuesday to return to the White House, where he will sign the Inflation Reduction Act into law.
