A controversial YouTube star has been slammed for throwing cash on a homeless man in Sydney in a stunt that has been described as 'degrading' by some outraged viewers.

Luke Erwin, a social media personality based on the Gold Coast, is seen raining $5 notes over the man's head as he  sits on the pavement in his latest TikTok video.

'Here we go, let's go, baby,' he laughs as $100 worth of $5 notes flutter to the ground as the man quickly starts to gather them up.

'It's all yours, mate. No one's going to take it from you, you f***ing sick c***,' he says.

'Don't get on a f***ing bender with that. That's yours, brother.'

In a longer version of the video uploaded to Erwin's YouTube channel, the prankster says the stunt is part of his new series called 'Making it Rain'.

Erwin tells the camera that he knows donating $100 is a 'bit stingy' but justifies the sum by saying 'it could be someone's rent'.

After raining the cash on the man, the influencer tells him to 'get well soon' before turning his attention to a homeless woman nearby.

The woman covers her head as another round of $5 notes fall around her and then reaches up to give Erwin a hug.
