Outspoken Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia lambasted Kathy Griffin on Wednesday after the comedian warned of a 'civil war' if the GOP wins back control of Congress in November.

The liberal celebrity joined in on a recent surge in Democratic attacks against allies of Donald Trump, suggesting that democracy itself hinges on keeping the ex-president's ilk from elected office.

Griffin wrote on Twitter Tuesday, 'If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican.'

'This sounds very threatening Kathy,' Greene shot back the next day.

'Americans just want their elected leaders to solve the problems that have been shoved into their lives by stupid politicians. Not your civil war.'

But Greene has signaled support for dividing the United States in the recent past, floating the term 'national divorce' on more than one occasion.
