NSW health authorities have responded to the state's first case of measles since February 2020 by issuing a list of 'exposure sites' in a move that brings back horrible memories of the measures used to stop the spread of Covid in Australia.
The health department has traced the movement of the measles patient, who is now isolated in hospital, to a church, a university and shopping centre over the space of four days.
The patient is a 50-year-old who contracted the virus while travelling in Asia.
Measles is a highly infectious, vaccine-preventable disease that is spread through the air when someone who is infectious coughs or sneezes.

The health warning said that while infectious the victim had attended a Catholic church in the south-eastern suburb of Malabar on Sunday morning.
