Emmys viewership craters to ALL-TIME low of 5.9 million after post-pandemic bounce with critics slamming 'forgettable' event as 'ineptly written' and 'inoffensive' The Emmys' viewership fell to 5.9 million on Monday night, an all-time-low for the awards show after it saw a post-pandemic rebound last year  Viewership was down 1.5 million compared to last year, and also trailed behind 2020's mostly virtual event that saw 6.1 million viewers  Critics condemned the show and the performance of host Kenan Thompson, who did more dancing than delivering humor for the awards show  Viewers also soured at the live music performance by the 'resident DJ'  Monday's show also offered little surprises as the favorites to win, like Succession and Ted Lasso, took home the awards in their respective categories
