Three people, including a four-year old boy, were seriously injured after a ride plummeted to a platform at an amusement park in the southeastern Brazilian state of São Paulo.

A bystander appeared to be filming the child sitting in one of the ride’s chairs that was being elevated from the platform at Diego's Park in the municipality of Itanhaém on Sunday night.

The ride, which was supposed to resemble a NASA spaceship, was suspended about 20 feet above the ground for one second before it violently dropped.
