James 'Jimmy' Blake Blee, 62, was arrested in prison this week and charged with the manslaughter of Bruno Borges Martins, who was found unresponsive in the Port of Newcastle on May 9. Police will allege some 54kg of cocaine was found floating in the water nearby Mr Martins' body. Investigators suspect he died while trying to retrieve a much larger haul of cocaine from either the ship or the ocean floor. Blee was arrested at Grafton jail on Tuesday and charged with manslaughter, two counts of people smuggling, plus knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime. Police will allege the man engaged in unlawful activity which resulted in the death of Mr Martins. Blee was already in custody after being charged in May over his alleged role in the incident and remains before the courts Strike Force Groove investigations continue. Blee will appear in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on October 5. Mr Martins, 31, was a super-fit adrenaline junkie who had circled the globe before he was found dead in the freezing murky waters of Newcastle Port surrounded by bricks of cocaine wrapped in yellow plastic. Bruno Borges Martins (pictured) ran an abseiling business in addition to working as a repair diver on cargo ships in the huge port city of Santos in South America He grew up the son of a fisherman in a small coastal village before he moved to the city of Santos, the largest port in Latin America, where he found work as a diver conducting underwater repairs on vessels. Mr Martins had worked all over Brazil after he left his childhood home of São Mateus in Espirito Santo in the country's south-east. He worked briefly in the United States, before settling in Santos to work on the ships. He loved surfing and abseiling - even running his own rappelling business on the side when he wasn't on diving work.
