As Hurricane Ian approached Florida threatening to bring billions of dollars in damage and place millions of Floridians in immediate danger, CNN host Don Lemon spent an interview asking a hurricane expert whether climate change was to blame for Ian, only to be shut down, repeatedly.
Ian, currently a Category 4 hurricane, is expected to wallop Florida beginning Wednesday with winds of up to 155 mph and is predicted tp bring damages and economic loss in excess of $45 billion.
Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has issued multiple warnings to residents that the storm is going to have 'major, major impacts in terms of wind, in terms of rain, in terms of flooding.'
Millions have evacuated and millions more are preparing to hunker down and weather the storm.
But instead of focusing on the forthcoming danger and destruction, Lemon, who recently escaped a network purge of some of the most left-wing talent at the company, attempted to turn the conversation political.
During the segment, Lemon asked Acting Director of the NOAA National Hurricane Center Jamie Rohme, 'What effect climate change has on this phenomenon,' meaning the hurricane.
Rohme quickly shut down the line of questioning, saying that he would rather focus on the present circumstances of the storm, adding, 'I don't think you can link climate change to any one event.'
