Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell insisted Wednesday that abortion won't be the main issue in the midterm elections.
'Well, I think that issue is playing out in different ways in different states,' he replied at a Senate leadership press conference, when asked if he was being 'overly dismissive' about the impact abortion will have.
'The three big national issues that we're going to be addressing here, that people are most concerned about, nationally, are the ones that I mentioned: Inflation, crime and open borders. That's clearly where we're going to be putting the focus,' McConnell continued.
The reporter also pointed out that Republican candidates didn't seem to have a 'clear strategy' on how to tackle the hot-button issue - with some saying that decisions on pregnancy terminations should be decided at the state-level, and others saying they'd support Sen. Lindsey Graham's federal 15-week ban.
'With regard to the issue you raised, I think every one of our
