Two elderly brothers cheated death after a dramatic rescue that saw each brother airlifted by helicopter after their small plane crashed into a cluster of trees in Washington state.
Kyle Allyn and his brother - 78 and 79 years old - were behind the wheel of the Cessna aircraft when their plane hit the trees and went down in Skagit Valley near Lake Cavanaugh.
After the crash the brothers miraculously survived and were able to climb out of the aircraft with no injuries. Both men walked nearly a mile along a creek bed in the woods to safety before calling 'mayday' on their handheld radio, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff's office.
Snohomish County Search and Rescue team were able to locate the men on a logging road Monday morning less than 12 hours after they took off from Concrete Airport en route to Snohomish.
