The news comes after another entertaining video of Coolio performing with his production crew as his backing dancers was reposted on social media.

Sharing the video on Twitter, comedy writer James Cotter said Coolio was rumoured to have been 'booked by mistake' and the crew realised too late that no backing dancers had been arranged.

'They hadn't arranged backing dancers, so he made the middle-age production crew dress up and do it instead. Best TV ever.'

RTÉ presenter Marty Whelan who introduced him then confirmed his Tweet saying: 'Ah Coolio, I remember him with great fondness.

'To have him dancing with the staff was quite the moment. Which they did willingly. The very idea of introducing Coolio on afternoon television shows you how innovative RTÉ has always been…'

The clip shows Marty introducing him, saying: 'To perform this now we have a number of our own crew, Open House crew we could call them including DJ Liz who is over there and the rest of them.

'Ladies and gentleman it is Coolio and Ghetto Square Dance!'

The performance then showed Coolio rapping as three awkward men wearing hoodies stood behind him trying to dance.

As the clip circulated again, fans of the late star reacted to the funny moment, with one writing: 'This is art, the way the guy on the right is doing traditional foot twists improvised at every wedding he’s ever attended, incorporating it within a coolio performance. Honestly tears of laughter here!'
