A TikTokker has opened up about the moment she found out her online boyfriend was in fact a woman who'd been catfishing her for six months.

Christine Abadir, from Sydney, met who she thought was a man named 'Jay' earlier this year on the internet and the pair quickly struck up an online relationship.

It wasn't until the 22-year-old flew to New Zealand in September to finally meet him in real life that Ms Abadir realised she'd been conned.

She admitted there were several red flags throughout their relationship, such as the fact 'Jay' would never video call, he was possessive, and would rarely send photos of his face.

Ms Abadir shared her story to her nearly 2 million TikTok followers and astonishingly revealed that she and the woman catfishing her have since made amends.

'The Catfish apologised and we are good friends now,' she told Daily Mail Australia.
